Margaret “Midge” Ann Brossia Calevro Bellner passed away July 15, 2023 at the Manor of Perrysburg.
Midge was born October 5, 1931 at her parents home to the late Henry J. and Marjory R. (Kopp) Brossia. She married Torino E. Calevro on October 27, 1951. He preceded her in death. From this blessed union, they had three children, Rebecca P, Paul E, and James A. She then married Robert J. Bellner and he preceded her in death.
She attended Perrysburg High School where she played Bass Drums in the marching band. After graduating she played basketball and their team were the T.A.B.F. champions in 1951. Following in her oldest sister, Dorothy’s footsteps, she went to the School of Practical Nursing graduating with high honors. She accepted a position with the Perrysburg Hospital as a practical nurse and later retired from Mercy Hospital. She was a faithful member of Zoar Lutheran Church her entire life, where she was a member of the Rachel Circle. She was a 61 year member of Lotus Chapter #477 Order of the Eastern Star.
After having children, she was a stay at home mom. She supported her children’s and grandchildren’s actives from attending Paul and Jamey’s sporting events, being a cub scout leader, and Becky’s involvement with the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, by sitting on the Advisory Board for Becky and her great-granddaughter, Madison.
She loved her family to the moon and back. Nothing brought her more joy than to be with her children grandchildren and great grandchildren. When you came to visit she always had a big smile and her arms outstretched to give you a hug.
She was the last surviving child and was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, siblings, son in law David L. Henderly and step-granddaughter Mikalya Angel. Surviving Midge are her children Rebecca P. Henderly (Greg Snyir), Paul E. Calevro (Melanie), James A. Calevro (Debra L). Grandchildren Chad W. Henderly Sr, Paul E. Calevro Jr. (Tiffanie) , James A. Calevro II (Loren), Stephen J. Calevro (Kristen), Tiffany L. Calevro (Craig Miller), Lori (Todd) Hill and Marcie Henderly. Great-grand children Madison L. Henderly, Chad W. Henderly Jr., Jayson and Jacob Calevro, Emarae and James Nathaniel Calevro, Dominic P. and Vincent T. Calevro, Cole E. Martin, Ryan (Missa), Mila and Millie Hill and Rachel (Sean) and Harper Mallory. Also surviving is her childhood friend and beloved sister-in law, Betty J. Calevro.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 20 from 2 – 8 pm At Witzler – Shank-Walker Funeral Home 222 E South Boundary, Perrysburg, Ohio (419-874-3133) with Eastern Star Services at 7:30 pm.
The funeral service will be Zoar Lutheran Church 314 E. Indiana Avenue, Perrysburg, Ohio with visitation Friday at 10 am with the service following at 11 am with Pastor Paul Reichert officiating. Interment will be at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Zoar Lutheran Church .
Midge’s family would like to thank all who cared for her, prayed for her, and comforted her.
