Mardella A. Burdine

Mardella A. Burdine, 85, of Oak Harbor, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Parkview Care Center, Fremont, Ohio. She was the first born child of Gilbert and Vivian Gardner on November 17, 1933, in Carroll Township, Ohio. Mardella graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1952. On July 25, 1953 she married her high school sweetheart, Jess R. Burdine, who preceded her in death on May 30, 2016. Jess and Mardella were a team that built a full and successful life. Truly happiest in her home, Mardella was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. For relaxation she enjoyed reading biographies, researching family genealogy, Big Band music, classic motion pictures and making keepsake quilts. Mardella loved to cook and bake, finding added satisfaction when new recipes were given the thumbs up and could be added to her drawer full of recipes. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Jeff (Marge) Burdine, Todd Burdine, Tab (Linda) Burdine, Laurie Burdine and Eric (Jennifer) Burdine; grandchildren, Seth, Jared, Olivia, Michael, Jennifer, Matthew, Joshua, Scott, Tim, Autumn, Sarah, Amanda and Christopher; 18 great grandchildren; and brother, Terry (Wanda) Gardner. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Craig Burdine, brother, Gaylon Gardner, sisters, Rolaine Gardner and Coletta Gardner and an infant brother, Ricky Gardner. Visitation will be Thursday, December 27, 2018, from 9-11 a.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor, followed by the funeral service at11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Rusha Cemetery, Oak Harbor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for Mardella may be given to the Oak Harbor Public Library, 147 W. Main St., Oak Harbor, OH 43449.
