Marcy A. Luther, 68, of Toledo, Ohio. Passed away on October 3, 2022, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. She was born in Toledo, on January 17, 1954, the daughter of Richard T. and Joan E. (McNally) Peiffer and was raised in Genoa, Ohio. Marcy graduated from Genoa High School in 1972 and attended The Ohio State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with her bachelor’s degree. She went on to receive her master’s in occupational therapy from the University of Toledo.
Marcy worked in her field of study at Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, Riverview Nursing Home in Oak Harbor, PT Services of Genoa, and retired from AVIAVIA in Toledo. While in high school she was a cheerleader and played the clarinet in the marching band. She was a very accomplished clarinet player in high school and worked very hard to hold the first chair position.
Her family and friends will remember her for her loving and giving heart, she always saw the good in everyone and everything. Her love for animals obvious throughout her life. She loved her cats and dogs and took great pleasure in being around horses. Marcy could often be found enjoying the beauty of the water and spent time around Lake Erie fishing and taking in the beauty of the surroundings. She watched cooking shows, taking notes on how to create the best dish, and sharing her knowledge with those around her. Her sisters say she had the “gourmet taste”! When Marcy relaxed, she listened to her favorite Rock-n-Roll tunes and had a book in her hands.
Marcy will be missed by her son, Winfield “Pete” Scott Luther V, mother, Joan Peiffer, siblings, Lori Shaneck, Richard (Denise) Peiffer and Carrie (Terry) Sievert, along with her beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard “Dick” T. Peiffer.
