Marcia A. Moore

Marcia A. Moore, age 91, passed away May 15, 2023. She was born May 3, 1932, in Sylvania to the late Morris and Florence (Tomkins) Crary. She had resided in Lambertville, Michigan for the last few years.

Marcia served as Worthy Matron of Fort Industry Chapter, OES in 1968, and as secretary for twenty-five years. She was appointed as Deputy Grand Worthy Matron of the 6th District OES in 1975. Marcia served as President of the Conn-Weissenberger American Legion Post 587 Auxiliary from 1999-2000. She was also Past President of the Lucas County American Legion Auxiliary. She volunteered at the area VA Clinic for 5 years. Marcia was employed with Owens Illinois Corporation for 32 years, retiring in 1985. She and her husband Jack made five memorable trips to Germany with the Berlin Veterans Group including a tour of Europe on one trip. She and Jack also enjoyed many cruises. Her favorite destination was Higgins Lake, Michigan, at the family cottage which has been in the family for over 100 years.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Jack; brother, Harold “Bud” (Donalda) Crary; niece, Cynthia (Donald) Shalitz; grand nephews, Brandon Trimble and Connor Shalitz; step-daughter, Viola (Berndt, deceased) Schmidt-Kosanke; grandchildren of Berlin, Germany, Moritz, Adrian, Hannah, Max; great grandchildren of Berlin, Henni, Bobo, Lea; sister-in-law, Dianna (Ray) Ladesic; nieces and nephews, Brittany, Cicily, Steven, Marty, Matthew, Robert and Jay.

Visitation will Friday, May 19, 2023 from 3:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 6:00 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made out to American Legion Post 587 Auxiliary or the Eastern Star Home, in Marcia’s memory.
