Marcia L. Kersten, 87, of Perrysburg, Ohio and formerly of Graytown, Ohio, died peacefully on December 14, 2021, at St. Clare Commons, her home for the past 4 years. She was born on March 30, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Earl and Myra (Faust) Deitzel. Marcia graduated from Waite High School in 1952 and that same year married her loving husband Glenn O. Kersten at St. Mark Lutheran Church, in Toledo, on November 15, 1952. Glenn passed away on January 4, 2018, and Marcia missed him so very much. Marcia was the church secretary for 15 years at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Curtice, Ohio and for over 10 years at St. Peter Lutheran Church at Blackberry Corners, where she and Glenn were active members. She was one of the founding members of the Women of the Church and a consummate seamstress, making many banners that are still used today. Marcia was a devoted mother and provided a loving home. She cherished time spent with family especially at the family cottage on Bright Lake. She and Glenn enjoyed travelling with friends and family to Hawaii, Arizona, and many other destinations. Marcia is survived by her son, Ron (Brenda) Kersten and daughter, Janice (Patrick) Cassity. Marcia will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Melissa Smiley, Laura (Dan) Nowak, Michael (Jessica) Kersten, Steven (Amanda) Cassity and Thomas Cassity and great grandchildren Kendall, Morgan, Alayna, Ava, Bradan, Mackenzie, Connor and daughter-in-law, Lois Kersten. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Glenn, sister, Sandra Lemke and her son, David Kersten. Visitation for Marcia will be from 2:00-4:30 PM, Sunday, December 19, 2021, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio. The funeral service will be conducted at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Blackberry, at 11 am, Monday, December 20, 2021, with additional visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Limestone Cemetery at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. Peter Lutheran Church, 17877 W. St. Rt. 579, Martin, OH 43445.
