Marcia R. Armbruster, of Monclova, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Lakes of Monclova. She was born September 8, 1929 in Toledo to Maurice and Marion (Rogier) Van Dorp, Sr. She grew up in Maumee and was a graduate of Maumee High School. She married Neil Armbruster on August 21, 1948 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maumee. Marcia worked as a waitress at several area restaurants, including the former Plantation Inn, the Surf, and the French Quarter Holiday Inn. She then worked as a teller for 15 years for First National Bank at the Waterville branch. She was a long-time volunteer at St. Joseph Catholic Church where she served on many boards and committees. She was also active in the Monclova Democratic club. Marcia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was happiest when spending time with her family and friends. She had a friendly and bubbly personality and always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed talking with anyone and seemingly everyone she encountered-she never met a stranger! The widow of Neil Armbruster, she was also preceded in death by brother Earl Van Dorp and sister Judy Pershing. Surviving are her sons Tod (Clare) and Donald (Deborah); grandchildren Sean, Luke, Mary, Tiffany, Trinity and Kirston; 10 great-grandchildren; and brother Maurice Van Dorp Jr. Her family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Legacy at Lakes of Monclova for providing such compassionate and excellent care and support to Marcia in her final years. Friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee after 9 a.m. Friday, where prayers will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maumee at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
