Marcella Wilkinson

Marcella Wilkinson, age 73, passed away at St. Vincent Medical Center on Monday, January 6, 2025, surrounded by family. She was a graduate of Whitney High School in Toledo, Ohio.

She met Ron, the love of her life, while working at Don's Drive-in and remained married for over 50 years until his untimely passing a few short years ago. She worked for Adams Laundry and Cleaners in Toledo, Ohio for over two decades. She had many interests, but she really enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, camping, watching movies, shopping, and taking care of animals. The thing she loved the most of all was spending time with her family. She took every opportunity to find ways to bring everyone together. Her husband and family members often endearingly referred to her as "Red" to honor her role in the family. She was empathetic, kind, determined, stubborn, loving, and an unforgettable fiery red head. Marcella was a committed spouse, a loving mother, a doting grandmother, a loyal sister, a kind aunt, and a dear friend. In life, people often hope that their role matters in the lives of others. When people tell stories about Marcella their face always lights up as they fondly recall their "Marcella" story. She has left an indelible mark on this world and will be missed by all that knew her.

Marcella is survived by her son, Vincent (Michelle Sullivan) Wilkinson; daughter, April (Chris) Schwarzkopf; siblings, Stella Meyers, Louella Meyers, Caroline Meyers, Robert (Brenda) Meyers, and Charles Meyers; grandchildren, Sierra, Jon (Ally), Sloane, Michael-Vincent, Clara, and Cora. Marcella is also survived by a great number of beloved nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ronald Wilkinson; parents, Eugene and Marilyn Meyers; and siblings, Gene Meyers, Pamela Meyers, and Druscilla (Norman) Chandler.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Marcella's life at Maison-Dardenne Walker Funeral Home in Maumee, Ohio, at 501 Conant Street. The viewing will be held from 2 until 7 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2024. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2024 at 11 a.m. followed by the procession to her final resting place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park at 4210 Central Ave, Toledo, OH 43606.
