Maragret Ann Arnold

September 25, 1940 — November 10, 2023

Margaret, “Peggie Ann” Arnold, 83 of Perrysburg, OH, transitioned peacefully with her daughter by her side, on Friday, November 10, 2023. She was born in East Chicago, Indiana on September 25, 1940 to Robert Arnold and Carol B. Marshall. Peggie grew up in Indiana and moved to Washington State in 1965.

Peggie was preceded in death by both of her parents and her former husband, Rudolf August Fiedelak, who died in 1992.

Peggie’s lifelong passion was the well-being of children. She was a foster parent, owned her own childcare center, an Early Childhood Educator, and retired working as a substitute teacher focused on early intervention. Peggie’s other passions included traveling, being in nature, a love of animals, horseback riding, and swimming. On a trip to Costa Rica, she narrowly survived a close call while swimming with a shark.

Peggie was an excellent cook and one of her greatest accomplishments was opening her own restaurant in Seattle with her friend, who was a French chef. Her specialty was making the cheesecakes.

Peggie was a highly creative and crafty person and enjoyed knitting, crochet, reading, singing, dancing, and watching movies. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies group and thoroughly enjoyed their social activities and outings.

Peggie will best be remembered by those who knew her as warm and energetic, quick-witted, loved good conversational banter, and was caring and compassionate to others, especially her close family members.

Peggie loved food, but she would often say, “I only love good food,” meaning the food she cooked herself! Her most enduring favorite food time was, “Kaffe und Kuchen,” the traditional German ritual where friends and family gather together to enjoy coffee, cake or cookies and talk.

This is probably the biggest thing I will miss about my mom, Peggie. So many times we would sit together over a cup of coffee and share a “sweet,” and open our hearts and minds to one another. She was not only my mother she was my best friend.

Survivors include daughter, Cynthia Fiedelak (Mark) Kenny, of Grand Rapids, OH and son, Dennis Rudolf Fiedelak, of Bonney Lake, WA and her three grandsons, John Michael Kenny, in Hawaii, Evan Marcus Kenny, in Massachusetts, and Weston Raymond, of California. Peggie is also survived by brother, Anton Seppi and sister, Karen Callery, both of WA, and brother Michael Arnold and sister Diane Puplava, both of IN.
