Malcolm “Mac” Rucker

Malcolm Douglas Rucker, 75, of Rossford, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio after a long illness. He was born in Maysville, Kentucky on July 19,1949 to the late Tivis and Mary (Hitch) Rucker.

Mac is survived by his wife of 34 years, Bonnie Gallaher-Rucker, and her children Michael (Jennifer) Gallaher, Katrina (Steven) Nickoloff, Jeremiah (Casey) Gallaher, Elisabeth (Brett) Czaja and many grandchildren. Also survived by his siblings Earl (Carla) Rucker, Margie (Johnny) Arthur, Wanda Rucker, Neva Rucker-Nash, Ava (Tim) DeAtley. He is preceded in death by siblings Lois Roberts, Daniel Rucker and Leonard Rucker.

Mac proudly served his country in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War. He went on to pursue a successful career in communications. Mac thoroughly enjoyed time with his family. He especially enjoyed their time traveling the US in the motorhome. Mac was an incredible woodworker, spending his free time mastering his craft by making gifts for friends and family. He had a heart for music and greatly loved playing his banjo and guitar; he was especially fond of the sounds of Bluegrass. Mac had a special love for his dogs Candy and Honey, who were an immense comfort to him in his final weeks.

We are comforted knowing that Mac is now resting in the arms of Jesus.

A private memorial service will be held to honor the life of Malcolm and interment will take place at Wallingford Cemetery, in Flemingsburg, KY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to the local VFW or American Legion.
