On December 19, 2022, M. Magdalene “Maggie” Warchol, 96, of Rossford, gained her angel wings.
First and foremost, Maggie served the Lord. A baptized and confirmed Catholic, she leaned on her faith in all situations. She was active in church, a member of the church choir for over 50 years, and especially enjoyed singing at Midnight Mass.
She also served her family. Countless hours she spent cooking and baking Slovakian dishes, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and planning; she always had a plan and was very organized. Maggie also enjoyed puzzles, crafting, playing cards, and watching the birds and deer that seemed to follow her no matter where she resided. Maggie was a gymnast in her younger years and went on to be the district gymnastics instructor for the Slovak Gymnastics Sokol. She had incredible wit and managed to sneak in one-liners even in her final days.
While we mourn her loss here on earth, we celebrate that she is together again in heaven with her beloved husband Irv Warchol; parents Rose and Mike Chromik; siblings Steve (Cecilia) Chromik, Rose (Stanley) Lisowski, Wilma "Chopsie" (Bill) Adams; and nephew, Robert Chromik.
Left to cherish her memory are: her daughter, Pam Szolosi, and grandchildren Jason Szolosi, Kristie Nosel, and Sarah (Darren) Nowaczyk; son Irving (Debby) Warchol, and grandchildren John (Raquel) Warchol, Nick (Tanja) Warchol, Matt (Jessica) Warchol, and Zack (Amanda) Warchol; and daughter Judy (Gary) Young, and grandchildren Jeff (Rhonda) Young, Scott (Nikki) Young, and Katie (Roni) Beczynski. Maggie’s nieces, nephews, extended family, close friends Corinne Kobylak, Betty McKinney, Lucy Regueyra, and 24 great-grandchildren, all of whom regularly received cards each holiday and birthday, as well as handmade baby blankets when they were born, will also miss her dearly.
Maggie will be remembered for her strength and her softness, her empathy and her humor, her faith and friendship, and for always giving the best heart-warming smiles to those around her.
Visiting hours are Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 4:00P.M.—8:00P.M. at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Rd. Visitation will also be held at All Saints Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 9:30A.M.—10:30A.M., followed by Mass at 10:30A.M.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the care and support they have received and suggest donations to them in honor of Maggie. They would also like to thank the caregivers and staff at Maumee Pointe.
