Madelyn Rose Desandro

Madelyn Rose DeSandro, age 94, of Maumee, Ohio died on Monday, February 15, 2016. She was born on November 24, 1921 in Toledo, Ohio to George and Anna (Apger) Smith. Madelyn retired from St. Lukes Hospital. She enjoyed family gatherings and particularly liked her day trips with son and care giver, Pete. Madelyn loved to winter in Arizona and Hawaii. She is survived by her sons, George (Theresa) and Peter; daughters, Veronica (Phillip Culver) DeSandro and Mella (Paul) Peters; grandchildren, Paul L. (Araceli Hernandez) Peters; Jason M. (Shannon) Peters; Christopher (Sarah) DeSandro; Joseph (Tara) DeSandro; Jennifer DeSandro; Brittany DeSandro and Amy (Travis) Schmidt; 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. In addition to her parents and siblings, Madelyn was preceded by her husband, Peter J. DeSandro; grandson, Michael E. Young and great grandson, Joshua A. Young. Friends and family will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Maumee.
