Mable Adeline Blankenship Rice was born March 25, 1917 as the beloved only child of Revie Morgan and William Robert Blankenship on Albion Street in Toledo, the site of their life long home. She graduated grade school at Glenwood School, started high school at DeVilbiss but spent the next three years at Scott High School graduating in 1935. Mable married S/Sgt. James M. Rice on September 16, 1942 in Paris, TX, but their nuptials were interrupted by WWII. After James returned from the war, they started their family raising them in the Old West End on Scottwood Ave. They retired to Giant St. where they continued to enjoy their children, grandchildren, family and friends. Mable joined her husband, Jim and other family and friends in Heaven on December 14, 2010. She is survived by her children, Pat Yancy-Felton Jim Felton, Catherine Ann Rice, Jim Linda Rice, and Hugh Vicki Rice; grandchildren and great-grandhildren, Lisa Yancy, Devon Josh Schneider, Marc Wismer, Jim and Kelly Rice, Katey and Colleen Rice, Cori, Cody, and Trevor Ransdell, Addison and Reagan Schneider, and Abbey Marks. Friends may call from 2-8 pm on Friday at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. and Saturday at 9:00am in Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Ave. Toledo, OH, where the funeral mass will be held at 10:00am. Interment will follow at the Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Ave. Toledo, OH 43610 or to the charity of the donor
