Mabel Viola Hawley

Mabel Viola Hawley, age 87, a former resident of West Toledo for 63 years, died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Perrysburg Commons. A native of Toledo, she was born July 29, 1924 to the late Hjalmar and Botilda Anderson Gustafson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Darrell C. Hawley; sister, Alva Nelson; brothers, Nels, Stuart, Phillip, and Harold Gustafson; and son-in-law, Allan Bosworth. A graduate of Scott High School, Mabel worked in retail sales for Sears and Roebuck for many years. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Scandinavian Club in Toledo. Mabel enjoyed gardening and will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife and mother. Those left to cherish her memories include daughter, Diane H. Bosworth of Chagrin Falls; son, Darrell Rebecca Hawley of Whitehouse; grandchildren, Lynn Andy Capwill, Charles Candy Bosworth, Darrell Angie and Jeffrey Kristie Hawley; and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2011. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
