Mabel Suzanne “Hootie” (Aukerman) DeAngelis of Geneva, Ohio passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born on July 11, 1942 to Ray O. & Alice M. Aukerman. Mabel was a Girl Scout Leader and a Cub Scout Den Mother, she taught Sunday school at Harpersfield United Methodist Church and participated in the Harpersfield Fire Auxiliary, Eastern Star, Lions Club, ABWA, and Methodist Women. She owned and operated “More Than Flowers”, for many years and continued to make floral arrangements after retiring. She enjoyed dancing, crafting, baking and camping. She never sat still and was always busy with something. She is survived by her husband, Aurelio 'Rel' DeAngelis, whom she married June 1, 1963; daughters, Debbie DeAngelis of Warren, Anna (Mike) Geis of Delta, and Renee Noaker of Geneva; grandchildren, Allyson, Megan and Ashley Pierson, Keith Noaker, Aubrey, Michael and Bradley Geis; great grandson Weston and her sister Emily (Richard) Savel of Geneva. She was preceded in death by her parents and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. She was a character and will be missed by the awesome staff of Swanton Valley Nursing Home. As per her wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
