Lynne Dr. Mccullough

August 30, 1941 — December 12, 2018

Lynne Stover McCullough, M.D., 77, of Perrysburg, died on December 12, 2018, after a brief illness. Lynne was born in 1941 in East Liverpool, Ohio. After graduating from East Liverpool High School in 1959, she entered The Ohio State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1962, and her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1966. She completed her residency in Anesthesiology at OSU Hospitals, serving from 1970-71 as the Chief Resident, which was the first time in the history of OSU that a woman held such a position. One of the highlights of her medical career occurred at OSU in the early 1970’s, where she completed the pioneering research in humans on the use of curare as a paralytic agent in surgery. The Ohio State University awarded her a Master’s Degree in Pharmacology for this groundbreaking work in the field of anesthesiology and pharmacology. She continued her academic medical career at the Medical College of Ohio, from 1978 until she retired from anesthesiology in 1985. Lynne is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Frank S. McCullough, M.D., and her parents, Grant and Clare Stover. She is survived by her 3 sons, Matthew (Terri), Daniel (Sophia) and Michael (Kelly), and her sister, Judge Ann Azdell. Mimi Lynne will be especially missed by her 8 loving grandchildren, Connor, Katie, Alexander, Delaney, Liam, Jake, Mia and Kalli. She adored spending time with all her grandchildren, and it didn’t matter if she was traveling the world with them or having a sleepover party at Mimi’s house. They were the light in her life. A family memorial will be held in her honor at Carranor Hunt and Polo Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ottawa Hills Schools Foundation or the 577 Foundation of Perrysburg, Ohio. Arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg (419-874-3133).
