Lynne R. King, age 77, of Maumee, OH passed away peacefully on Monday November 19, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg surrounded by her loving family.. She was born on June 23, 1935 in Toledo to Leroy and Helen Bitler Rabuck. Lynne was a teacher in the Maumee School system teaching at Fort Miami Elementary School and 18 years at Elizabeth Wayne Preschool, where she served as the director. She was an active member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church and Maumee Garden Club. Lynne dedicated her life to volunteering with various organizations; Hospice of Northwest Ohio, St. Lukes Hospital, The University of Toledo Medical Center, The Toledo Hospital and St. Pauls Respite Care. Lynne served as a facilitator for the Ecumenical Bereavement Support Group. She was also a tutor for Ohio Reads Program and the Miami Childrens Center. Lynne was honored with the 2008 Outstanding Citizen Award by the City of Maumee. She enjoyed playing golf, bridge and gardening and loved to travel. She was a real people person and loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons, Randy Mary Beth and Jeff Heather; and grandchildren, Alyssa, Spencer, Ally and Sydney. In addition to her parents, Lynne was preceded in death by her husband, David in 1988. Friends and family may visit on Friday November 23, 2012 from 3pm to 8pm at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 310 Elizabeth St., Maumee. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Pauls Episcopal Church Endowment Fund, Zion Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, Waterville, OH or Lambies Legacy at the Toledo Community Foundation.
