Lynn Olinger

Lynn Charles Olinger, age 73, had a life that was so well lived and full of love. He fought a courageous and long battle with cancer. He passed away at St. Luke’s hospital, previously surrounded by his loving family on December 20th, 2021. He was a 1967 graduate of Clay High School. Lynn proudly served his country as being part of the United States Marine Corp; it was one of his proudest accomplishments, and a staple for storytelling. Lynn worked for many years in maintenance at Davis Besse Nuclear Power Plant, then retired from Bedford Public Schools after 10 years as a maintenance supervisor. Lynn loved watching football on Sundays, riding his Harley, fishing on Lake Erie, and spending time with his family. Lynn enjoyed traveling to his Florida home and enjoying the sunshine. He would check in with the kids to see if there was snow on the ground back in Ohio. He was most proud of his title of the family’s Pool Boy! Lynn is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Deb Olinger; Children, Michelle (Cory) Miles, Whitney (Paul) Wasserman; Grandchildren, Zach (Valeria) Olinger, Jaylin Olinger, Karly, Greyson, and Kinslee AKA Juice Wasserman, Reyvin Miles; Great grandchild, Xavier Olinger; Brother, Edward Olinger. Lynn is preceded in death by his beloved son, Joseph Olinger and parents, Donald and Frances Olinger (VanWormer). The family finds peace in knowing Lynn has a sweet seat in heaven and is once again reunited with his son. Family will receive visitors at Walker Funeral Home in Oregon, Ohio on December 27th, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home, December 28th at 10 a.m. followed by a ceremony at Restlawn Memorial.
