Lynn A. Clemons

Lynn A. Clemons, 83, of Bellevue, Ohio, died Thursday morning, July 2, 2015, at Mercy-St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. He was born April 5, 1932, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Elmer G. and Hopewell (Fellers) Clemons. He retired in 1983 from truck driving for Interstate Motor Freight of Toledo and then worked in security for General Dynamics Corp. of San Diego, California. Lynn served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a life member of the VFW in Port Clinton, Ohio, the Marine Corps League, and the Am Vets of Ohio Post 17. He was also a life member of the Moose Lodge in Port Clinton. Lynn was an avid reader; specifically, the WW II chronicles and world religions. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue. Lynn played Bridge and enjoyed hunting all his life, as well as shooting trap, skeet and sporting clays. Lynn enjoyed writing poetry, much of which was published and won many awards. He was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Elaine (Andrews) Clemons, who passed away in 1978, his second wife, Phyllis (Seel) Clemons, who passed away in 2008, and his grandson, Brandon. He is survived by his children: Timothy L. (Patricia) Clemons of Port Clinton, Thomas A. Clemons of Whitehall, WI, Jane E. (Rodney) Snowberger of Toledo and John E. (Laurie) Clemons of Northwood; grandchildren: Aaron, Zachary, Samantha, Brittany and Lucas; and great grandchildren: Tabitha, Lilly and Kathryn. He is also survived by his siblings, Paul Clemons, of Sanibel Island, FL, Donald (Patricia) Clemons of Marblehead and Donna Swiergosz of Port Clinton. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison St., Port Clinton. Burial will take place in Riverview Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorial contributions for Lynn be directed to Wounded Warrior Project, 230 W. Monroe St. Suite 200, Chicago, IL 60606. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH, 43430, has assisted the family with arrangements.
