Lynda Mae Humbert

Lynda M. Humbert, 87, of Three Rivers, Michigan, and formerly of Genoa, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Monday, August 31, 2026. Lynda was born in Green Springs, Ohio, April 7, 1939, to Delbert and Vera (Young) Laux. She married Charles L. Humbert on November 25, 1959, in Tiffin, Ohio.

Lynda was raised on a farm outside of Old Fort, OH. She understood the farming life. She and LeRoy bought a farm next to her parents in the early 1970's and both were grateful when their two sons were old enough to get her off the tractor. Lynda had many jobs including book keeper, bank teller, tax preparer, and truck dispatcher prior to her true calling in the United States Post Office. For 30 years, Lynda worked as a rural and city carrier, clerk and postmaster at Tiffin, Fremont, Green Springs, Stoney Ridge and Kellys Island Post Offices before retiring in 2004. While still working and in retirement, Lynda traveled many places in her life including almost all 50 states. And, she never could pass up a casino while traveling.

Lynda had many dogs in her lifetime and passionately loved them all. Even during her waning years, she would search pet rescue sites for adoptable dogs.

Lynda is survived by her sons, Dan (Debbie) Humbert and Doug (Robin) Humbert; special step-grandaughters, Jessica and Jennifer; grandsons, Gabriel & Noah Humbert; sister, Susan (John) Crumrine; and special friends, Marsha Rine and Sue Michaels; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles, "LeRoy"; and sister, Betty Laux.

A Celebration of Life for Lynda & Charles will be held Friday, October 23, 2026, at 11:00 am in Robinson Walker Funeral Home, 501 West Street, Genoa, where the family will receive friends after 10:00 am. Interment: York Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Ottawa County Humane Society or a charity of your choice in her honor.
