Lydia C. Theaker

Lydia Theaker, age 79, of Maumee, Ohio passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. She was born June 29, 1931 in Mansfield, Ohio to John and Christine Winegartner Gross. Lydia was employed as an administrative assistant with the City of Maumee for many years, retiring in 1997. She was an avid traveler with her husband, Carl, traveling all over the world to many destinations. Lydia enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and watching sports especially football. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Maumee. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Lydia will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Lydia is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Carl Theaker, who she married June 5, 1951; children, Carl Jackie Theaker, Jr, David Barbara Theaker, Ted Tammy Theaker and Kim Randy Lyons; grandchildren, Brittany James Goldsmith, Sarah Kevin Bullock, James Sharp, Stephanie Jeff Fichtelman, Brandon, Joshua, Caitlyn, Anthony, Eliza and Jacquelyn Theaker and Brittany Daoust; great grandchildren, Rebecca and William Bullock and Isabella Theaker. In addition to her parents, Lydia was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Stanley and brothers, John, Herman and Richard Gross. Family and friends may visit Friday, March 11, 2011 from 3-9 pm in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee where funeral services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Maumee.
