Luther F. Goodeman, 86, of Genoa, died Monday, August 13, 2007, in Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. Luther was born January 20, 1921, in Port Clinton, Ohio, to Elmer and Hulda Schultz Goodeman. On September 8, 1951, in Toledo he married Opal J. Ward and she preceded him in death May 2, 1999. After 46 years Luther retired in 1983 as a train dispatcher from Conrail, formerly known as NY Central which then became Penn Central Railroad. Luther served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post #324 of Genoa. He also sat on the Village of Genoa Council for four years. Luther enjoyed farming at his farm in Oak Harbor for many years.Surviving Luther are his son, Thomas L. Goodeman of Waterville, OH, grandchildren, Tony Samantha Goodeman and Patty Goodeman, and brothers, Ervin Fran Goodeman of Toledo and Lee Eric Goodeman of Mason, OH. His parents, wife, and sister, Ruth Schmidt, preceded him in death.Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2007, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2007, in the funeral home with interment to follow in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, with a military graveside.
