Luette "Lou" Banachowski

Luette “Lou” Banachowski, age 93, passed away on May 31, 2024, at Kingston Residence of Perrysburg. She was born in Toledo on December 23, 1930, to Mary and Frank O’Konski and was the youngest of five brothers and sisters. She married the love of her life, Richard “Dixie” Banachowski on November 27, 1954, and celebrated 67 years of wedded bliss. Lou worked for the General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) until retiring in the early 1980’s and then she and Dixie relocated to Florida. Lou enjoyed the sea, surf, and sunshine. Later, they returned to the Toledo area to be closer to family.

Lou is survived by nephews and nieces, Edward (Mary) Glowacki, Frank (Diane) O’Konski, Kathy Bucher and David (Cathy) Banachowski; along with many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings and in-laws.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 2 pm to 7 pm at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 9:45 am with funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 104 West Broadway Street, Maumee, Ohio. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Maumee.
