Lucy Seibert, 84, of Lakeside-Marblehead, OH died Wednesday, December 03, 2008 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest E. Seibert, on November 19, 1977. Lucy was born on September 7, 1924 in London, England to Richard and Katherine Smith Jones. Lucy served in the Royal Air Force in England during the Blitzkrieg of WW II. She met and married her husband Ernest E. Seibert, a Sergeant of the U.S. Army Air Force, during their service in England. After VE Day, Lucy finished her tour of duty in the Royal Air Force in England and left London, on a Troop Ship with other war brides to raise a family in the United States. She grew up in the Episcopal Church in England and more recently attended the Lakeside United Methodist Church in Lakeside-Marblehead. Lucy worked as a real estate agent for Delores Knowlton Agency. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, cross country skiing, crafts, painting, and enjoyed classical art. Survivors include: daughter: Deborah James Frederick Schaefer of Port Clinton; sons: Ernest E. Christine Seibert of Cleveland, OH and J. Scott Marissa Seibert of Columbus, OH; granddaughters: Tamara Todd McPeek Schaefer-McPeek of Sandusky, OH and Alexandra Kim Seibert; grandsons: Jordan and Andrew Seibert; cousin: Doris Whitcombe; aunt: Ann Jones; and many relatives and friends in England and Canada, She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a younger brother. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Saturday, December 6, 2008 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will be conducted Reverend Deron Fourman at 2:00PM., Sunday, December 7, 2008 in the funeral home, where additional visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM. Burial will be in Whitehaven Memorial Park, Mayfield Village, OH on Monday, December 8, 2008 at noon. Memorial contributions in memory of Lucy may be given to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
