Lucy Thelma Grace Osbourne, age 91 passed away on Wednesday, January 15, in her home. She was born in Evergreen, Alabama on March 14, 1928 to the late Richard and Allie (Evans) Grace. She went to Nashville and obtained an associate degree then relocated to Toledo, Ohio where she built her life. Lucy was a hard and dedicated worker, retiring from Job and Family Services after 40 years and was also a licensed real estate agent. Education was a strong part of who she was, as she returned to school later in life to obtain a bachelors and three masters degrees from the University of Toledo. A few years before her death, she published her first book, ‘Quilt University. Lucy inspired many through her loving spirit and great wisdom. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Nep Grace; sister, Mary V Lee; and son, Nep Brassfield. She is survived by daughters, Chay Brassfield, Iva Brassfield and Joy Osbourne; grandchildren, Candace (Akil) Jones, Giavanna Smith, Anthony Holland Jr, and Jordyn Goodner; great-grandchildren, Legaci Jones, Akil Jones Jr, London Jensen, Heiress Jensen, and King Jordan, in addition to special daughters, Tori (Rob) Nicholson, and Ashley Adams. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lucys caregiver, Ida Hartfield. A private memorial will be held at Toledo Memorial Park-Mausoleum, Sylvania with Pastor Charles Waters Jr officiating. A Celebration of Life Brunch will be held at Warren AME Church, 915 Collingwood Blvd, Toledo at 1:00 pm.
