Lucy Kerste

Lucy Jean Kerste, age 88 of Toledo, Ohio died Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the Franciscan Care Center of Sylvania. She was born in Toledo on April 18, 1926 to Jacob M. and Iva Bell (Reynolds) Reighard. A graduate of Libbey High School, Lucy married Peter J. Kerste on June 26, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church and in her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, bingo and spending time with her cat, Angel. She is survived by her children, Michael A. (Donna) Kerste, Therese M. Hicks, John P. (Lisa Flye) Kerste and James J. (Laura) Kerste; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Iva; husband, Peter J. Kerste; brothers, Norman, Edward, John and Herbert Kerste as well as her sisters, Helen Moffitt and Mary R. Blackford. Friends will be received on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 10-11:00 A.M. at Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway in Holland (419-865-8879) where funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Lucy’s name to the Franciscan Care Center of Sylvania Activity Department.
