Lucille Lucy A. Zunk

Lucille Lucy A. Zunk, 82, of Oak Harbor, died Wednesday morning, October 2, 2013, at Riverview Healthcare Campus in Oak Harbor. She was born July 23, 1931, in Bay Township, Oak Harbor, Ohio, to Henry P. and Helen A. Witt Lorensen. She graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1949, where she had 12 years of perfect attendance. On June 24, 1950, in Oak Harbor, she married Frederick J. Zunk and he preceded her in death December 18, 2010. Lucy worked as an inspector for USDA; she worked as a secretary for the Ottawa County Superintendents office and retired in 1992 from the U.S. Postal Service, where she was the first rural female carrier for the Lindsey post office, and then delivered in the Carroll Township area for many years. She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor and a member of the churchs Sara Circle. Lucy was also a member of the Port Clinton Mother of Twins Club, the National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees and an Ottawa County 4-H advisor for 11 years. Lucy loved to cook, bake and sew, and enjoyed canning. Lucy is survived by her children: Dennis Jeanie Zunk, Deborah Zunk, Susanne Zunk, Cynthia Zunk and Timothy Janet Zunk; three grandchildren: Heath Mary Sindeldecker, Dustin Sindeldecker and Garret Zunk; and three great grandchildren, Paige, Noah and Caden. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Barbara Zunk, and brother, Harold Lorensen. Visitation for Lucy will be 2-8 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2013, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church on Co. Rd. 17, 9789, W. Oak Harbor SE Rd., Oak Harbor, with additional visitation from 10-11 a.m. at the church, with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Brown Rd. in Oregon. A bereavement gathering will be held back at St. Pauls Lutheran Church after committal services at the cemetery. The family has suggested memorials for Lucy to St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 9789 W.
