Lucille G. Lieske, 81, of Oak Harbor, passed away peacefully Friday evening, September 23, 2016 at the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio. She was born May 16, 1935 in Oak Harbor, the daughter of the late Elsie M. (Hansen) and Homer R. Pierson. On June 12, 1954 she married her high-school sweetheart, Ruel “Buzz” C. Lieske, upon his return from the Korean War. They resided in Oak Harbor where they raised four children. Lucille was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She was a caretaker of many and always placed the needs of others before herself. She devoted 39 years of service as a Licensed Practical Nurse at H.B. Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton, Ohio. Lucille was a long-time member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. She was involved in St. John’s Lydia Circle and volunteered her time to help sew over 1,000 quilts. She was also an active member of the Port Clinton Mother of Twins Club, where she held several positions. In her retirement, she enjoyed being queen mother of the Oak Harbor Red Hat Society “Latte Ladies”. Her hobbies were sewing and socializing. She treasured time spent with family and friends. Lucille is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ruel Lieske; son, Randy Lieske of Port Clinton; daughters, Dawn (Mark) Nehls of Beavercreek, OH, Linda Lieske and Lisa (Daniel) DelCostello both of Circleville, OH; and grandchildren Benjamin and Lindsay Nehls. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ronald Pierson; and sisters, Judith Westfere and Denise Case. Visitation will be 3-7 pm, Friday, September 30, 2016 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E Water St, Oak Harbor, OH 43449. Funeral services will be conducted 11am, Saturday, October 1, 2016 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 122 W Ottawa St, Oak Harbor, OH 43449. Interment will follow in Locust Point Cemetery, Carroll Twp. Memorial contributions in memory of Lucille may be made to Stein Hospice Services, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
