Lucille Anton Jacob, age 98, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on May 1, 2014 at the Point Place Center. She was born to David and Anna Anton on February 17, 1916; she was the fifth of nine children and the only girl. She was well loved and protected by her brothers. Lucille attended Woodward High School and was on the Social Committee for the Class of 1934. On May 3, 1938 she married Alex Jacob, with whom she raised three children. Lucille was a devoted wife and mother, donating her time early as a den mother of her boys scout meetings and assisting at her daughters girl scout meetings, as well as volunteering at Gesu while her children were at school there so many years ago. Lucille lived an admirable life of service that started at the age of five when her mother joined her as a member of the St. Georges Orthodox Ladies Benevolent Society, of which she remained active and eventually became the oldest and longest living member. In June of 1983, Lucille was honored as the Mother of the Year by St. George Cathedral SOYOs. Lucilles philanthropic nature continued with her involvement as the starting chair for ALSAC, the fundraising organization for the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, in the early 60s. This cause was dear to her as its founder, Danny Thomas, was family. Lucille volunteered as a voting poll worker for the city of Toledo for more than 20 years, and she volunteered in the Toledo Hospital gift shop for over 25 years. Lucille was a devoted family woman; it was up until just a few years ago that the entire family would gather at Memaws house for Sunday dinners and holiday celebrations. The stories that were told and the memories that were made around the dining room table will never be forgotton. She had a love for cooking, especially Syrian and Lebanese, which she passed on and taught to her daughter and granddaughters. Her generosity and compassion were truly unmatched. Lucille is survived by her son, Larry Jacob Patricia, daughter, Janice Musarelli Tony, and daughter-in-law, Ann Jacob; grandchildren, Dr. James Jacob Jacquelline, Kristin Ryan Dr. Steven; Michael Jacob Tracey, Lisa Childers David, and Michelle Kwiatkowski Dan DeSloover; Brent Musarelli and Alexa Kehres Tony; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
