Lucille Agnes (White) Jackson, 103, passed away June 30, 2024 at her home.
Lucille was born April 1, 1921 to Arthur and Florence (Burdick) White in Toledo, Ohio. Lucille spent the majority of her childhood in West Toledo and Santa Monica, California. She recalled that time with fondness, delighting her grandchildren with stories of old Hollywood stars and adventures with her older brothers, John and Carl.
Lucille was the Secretary of A.I. White & Sons, Incorporated, the family construction business, where she worked alongside her father and brothers, keeping the books for nearly 90 years.
Lucille married the love of her life, James Comly Jackson on April 11, 1936. Together they had three children, Florence, Jim and Art.
She shared her love of travel with her family – visiting all 50 U.S. states and countless national parks and destinations in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. She also loved reading, camping, gardening, garage sales and playing bingo, bunco, rummy and cribbage.
Lucille will be remembered for her love and loyalty to family, incomparable memory and independent and fearless spirit.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters-in-law, and daughter and son-in-law, Florence and Louis Mattero.
Lucille is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law – Jim & Cindy Jackson and Art & Martha Jackson; grandchildren – Lisa (Don) Iott, Lucy (Andy) Ingels, Lou (Paula) Mattero, Loren Mattero, Jimmy Jackson Jr., Jenny Jackson, Jeana (Jim) Northrop, Joanna (Tony) Kremnetz, Jessica (Rob) Underwood, Amanda (Mike) Sattler, Art Jackson Jr. and Brian Jackson; great grandchildren – Bradley, Daniel, Drew, Marcel, Isabella, Dominic, Gracie, Anthony, Kayla, Malissa, Alex, Nora, Tony, Austin, Samantha, Jackson, Arzey, Noah, Jude, and Evelyn; and great great grandchildren – Henri, Alden, Luca, Leeman, Luella, Cleo, Mila, RJ and Cameron.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, July 8, 2024 from 5-8pm at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. The funeral service will take place the following day, Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 11am at Walker, with burial to follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
