Lucille M Evans

Lucille M. Evans, age 104, of Toledo passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. She was born in Toledo as one of eight children to Helen and Carl Schwartz. Lucille was a graduate of Waite High School and pursued a career in auditing and bookkeeping. She valued her education and appreciated her teachers who played an important role in her life. Lucilles career in auditing took her to the United States Army, where her husband was stationed and to states including Michigan, Missouri, and Kansas as well as local businesses like Crosby Realty and Broer Freeman. Lucilles gifted ability and attention to detail made her highly accountable in the business world. Lucille joined the Masonic Order in 1938, where she went on to hold local, regional, and national offices. She appreciated the dedicated members of the Eastern Star and their sincere willingness to serve those less fortunate. Lucille served as Worthy Matron of the Triune Chapter in 1993 and later became Supreme Commander of True Kindred. Lucille treasured her 17 nieces and nephews and appreciated their cards and special visits. She was both proud and extremely grateful to celebrate her 100th birthday and then in January, 2018 her 104th birthday surrounded by family. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Evans; their young son, Robert Evans; parents, Helen and Carl Schwartz; three brothers, William (Alta), Emil (Bea), and Carl (Jean) Schwartz; and three sisters, Lavern (LeRoy) Phelps, Ruth (Merle) Jackson, and Eveline (Warner) Wiltse. She is survived by her numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and family may visit the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) from 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm. Interment will take place on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Forest Cemetery 1704 Mulberry St. Toledo, OH 43608.
