Lucille Bartell

Lucille A. Bartell, 94, of Oak Harbor, OH, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Elmwood Assisted Living, Fremont, Ohio. She was born on April 22, 1927 in Rice Township, OH to Albert and Luella (Mylander) Henry. On November 21, 1946, she married Robert "Bob" H. Bartell in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2009. Lucille was a longtime member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor. She was baptized by the Reverend Brandt on June 5, 1927. After graduation from Fremont Ross High School in 1945, Lucille worked in the medical office of Dr. Lester Bates, M.D. in Fremont, OH. Her life revolved around her family and the family farm. She enjoyed hosting family and friends, card playing, and puzzles. Lucille also enjoyed accompanying her husband to listen to local country music bands. Sunday afternoons drives were spent checking out how everyone else’s crops in the area were doing. Lucille is survived by her daughters, Patricia (William) Brannon and Sandra (Melvin) Wegman, sons, Ray (Shannon) Bartell and Philip (Dolly) Bartell, grandchildren, Benjamin Brannon, Cynthia (Rob) Schimmoeller, Lisa Christianson, and Mark (Victoria) Moyer and great grandchildren, Marilla, Jonah, Braden, Hannah, Alice, Zachary, Nevaeh, Harper, McKenzie, and Malachi. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Lowell and Bernard Henry. The family would like to thank ProMedica Hospice and Elmwood Assisted Living for their kindness and care. Funeral services for Lucille will be conducted by Pastor Becky Bolander at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 122 W. Ottawa St., Oak Harbor, OH with visitation one hour prior to the services from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes gifts to be made in Lucille’s memory to the Organ Restoration Fund at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor.
