Luciano Sonny Maranan

Luciano Sonny Maranan, 75, of Sylvania, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at St. Anne Hospital in Toledo.  He was born in Buco Talisay Batangas Philippines on January 15, 1944 to Doroteo & Lolita (Encarnacion) Maranan.  Sonny married his sweetheart, Carmelita Mendoza, and together they spent over 50 loving years together.  Together they raised their beautiful family.  He was an incredible family man and dedicated his life to making sure his family was well taken care of.  Sonny worked for SSOE for many years as a CAD operator in the engineering department before retiring.   Sonny is survived by his loving wife, Carmelita; daughters, Maria Cristina (Marcel) Lagasca; Katherine Mendoza Maranan; Carla Sonya (Randy) McComb; grandchildren, Federico, Marc, Mailana, Carlon, Jonathan and Kaylea, great-granddaughter, Maiya Grace; sisters, Evangelina Lugger, Leona Mitchell; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and countless friends.   Friends will be received on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH (419-841-2422).  Mass services are on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5373 S. Main Street, Sylvania, OH. Burial will follow at the Toledo Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Carmelita’s name to his family.
