Loyd Paul Lindesmith, 80, of Toledo, formerly of Genoa, died at his daughters residence Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Loyd was born April 17, 1930, in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Loyd and Myrtle Black Lindesmith. On September 6, 1952, in Toledo, Ohio, he married Margie M. Cowell and she preceded him in death September 29, 2007. Loyd served in the U.S. Air Force. After 30 years he retired as a communication technician from AT & T. He was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in Genoa. Loyd was a handyman, especially with electronics, and enjoyed woodworking. He enjoyed travelling with his wife and also attending all his grandchildrens athletics and school activities. Loyd is survived by his children, Paula Ronald Kozlowski of Toledo, Dan Becky Lindesmith of Weston and Julie Branham of Defiance; grandchildren, Derek Katie Kozlowski and Kirk Kozlowski, Carrie Lindesmith and Kelly Deanna Lindesmith, James J.P Branham and Emily Branham, and step grandchild, Tesa Hite; brother, Ralph Stella Lindesmith, sister, Lorene Bill Mahler, and brother-in-law, Bill Sorrell. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Margie, and sister, Lavonne Sorrell. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2010, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2010, in St. Johns United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington St., Genoa, with interment to follow in Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury. The family has requested memorials for Loyd to Erie West Hospice, 7553 Secor Rd., Lambertville, MI 48144, or the donors choice. The family would like to extend special thank-yous to Erie West Hospice and Nicki at Guardian Angels Home Health Care.
