Lowell M. Henry, 93, of Fremont, Ohio, died Monday, August 26, 2013, at Valley View Healthcare Center, Fremont, Ohio. He was born on August 24, 1920, in Sandusky County, Ohio, to Albert and Luella Mylander Henry. On October 18, 1941, in Gibsonburg, Ohio, he married Evelyn M. Ellis and she preceded him in death on September 30, 2003. Lowell was a lifetime farmer. He was also an active member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor and served many years as a council member. Lowell also served as a Sandusky County Commissioner from 1958-1970, was a member of the Sandusky County Board of Elections, Chairman of the Sandusky County Republican Party and a longtime member of the Sandusky County Republican Central Committee. He also proudly served as a member and former president of the Fremont Lions Club, Sandusky County Farm Bureau, Board member for the School of Hope and member of the Guidance Center in Tiffin, Ohio. Lowell especially enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Lowell is survived by his son, Gary E. Sandy Henry of Fremont, sister, Lucille Bartell, nieces, Toni Gary Blochowski, Debi Ed Hoelzle, Sandra Melvin Wegman, and Patricia William Brannon; nephews, Philip Dolly Bartell and Ray Shannon Bartell; grandchildren, Angie Craig Chlosta, Krista Ron Wolfe, Tammy Terry Davis, Larry Henry, Laurie DeLuca, Michelle Henry, and Rachel Ben Tubbs, 15 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn, daughter, Amy Henry, sons, Larry and Thomas Henry, granddaughter, Heidi Hineline-Sanchez, twin infant granddaughters, and brother, Bernard Henry. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2013, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions for Lowell may be directed to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 122 W. Ottawa St., Oak Harbor, OH 43449.
