Louis Duane Hall, affectionately known as "Luke," was born on May 24, 1961, at Maumee Valley Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, to Louis and Ellen Hall. He peacefully departed this life on May 18, 2026, at St. Vincent's Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his loved ones.
At an early age, Louis professed his love for Christ under the leadership of Pastor Bradford at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He sang in the children's choir and appeared on Toledo Sings Gospel. In May 2026, Louis reaffirmed his faith and accepted Christ again as his personal Savior. Luke was known for his remarkable strength, kind heart, and willingness to help others whenever needed.
As a child, he loved spending time fishing, and throughout his life he enjoyed watching old westerns such as Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and movies starring John Wayne. He also loved music and enjoyed listening to artists including Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, The Dramatics, and Casey Kasem's Top 40 countdown. Luke enjoyed long walks to places such as Lima, Ohio, Detroit, Michigan, and Monroe, Michigan. He worked for many years at Central Market and at the beauty supply store across from his home. He also loved playing the lottery and could often be found happily scratching off lottery tickets for hours.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Ellen Hall and Louis and Barbara Hall; and his siblings Tony Hall, Robert Hornbeak, Cato Hornbeak, Rodney Hornbeak, Roberta Hornbeak, Rovata Conners, Rochelle Hornbeak, Roletta Russell, and Roxanne Hornbeak.
He leaves to cherish his memory sisters; Maggie Overton, Ida Diggins, Bobra Coleman, Terry Hall, Rosaline (James) Hill, and Minister Rosetta (George) Peoples; Brothers; Jerome Hall, and Rodney (Trina) Hall; special cousin brother, Gerald Spencer; and special brother, Kevin Watkins. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever remember and love him.
