Louis A. Beringer

Louis Beringer, age 64, of Sylvania, passed away peacefully December 20, 2014 at Ebeid Hospice Residence with his loving wife at his side.  He was born February 15, 1950 in Bellflower, CA to the late Leslie and Marjorie (Bursiek) Beringer.  He was a 1967 graduate of Start High School. Lou graduated from the Toledo Police Academy in 1976 and began his career with the Toledo Police Department, retiring as a Sergeant in 2003.  He was a member of the Toledo Police Command Officers  Association and the Fraternal Order of Police. Lou enjoyed radio controlled model aviation and was an active member of the Flying Tigers and Weak Signals Clubs.  He had a deep love for his family and a true passion for his grandchildren. Lou is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy; daughter, Ami (Eric) Richer and their children Peyton Marie, Thomas Allen and a new arrival coming soon; son, Todd (Jill) Beringer and their children, Connor Lake and Garrett Louis; sisters, Linda (Bob) Witker of Mesa, AZ and Jutta (Barry) Coutts of Kissimmee, FL ; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to visit from 2-7 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2014 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) with services to celebrate Lous life beginning at 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Ebeid Hospice, 5200 Harroun Rd., Sylvania, OH 43560. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff of the fourth floor at Flower Hospital and Ebeid Hospice for their wonderful care of Lou.
