Loretta E. Wagar, 90, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Swan Creek Retirement Center. She was born April 11, 1922 in Powell Station, TN to the late Sherman and Vaulena Johnson Wagar. Loretta was a woman of enormous grace who lived her life with quiet dignity. She was retired from the Champion Spark Plug Company where she served as an executive assistant for more than 30 years. A woman of deep Christian faith, she was a lifelong member of First Alliance Church where she formerly served as a deaconess and Sunday school teacher. Loretta was an artist at heart and enjoyed painting and cross stitch. Her West Toledo home was filled with her paintings, sketches and stitch work. She found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. Loretta is lovingly survived by her brother, Mel Monica; sister-in-law, Jane Wagar; brother-in-law, Charles Traxler; and nine nieces and nephews who absolutely adored her. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Wayne; and sister, Twila Traxler. Visitation will be Thursday from 3-8 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave west of Corey Rd. where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 27, 2012. Pastor Keith Sholl will preside and burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials be made to First Alliance Church and they would like to thank the staff of Swan Creek for the excellent care provided to Loretta.
