Loretta Jenkins

Loretta Jenkins, 85, of Port Clinton, OH passed away Tuesday evening, August 22, 2023 at her home surrounded by loving family. Loretta was affectionately known as “Gram”, “Oma”, “Rolletta”, and “Lala”. She was born on August 9, 1938 in Cleveland, OH to Frank and Genevieve (Sova) Lisy. On November 3, 1956 in Cleveland, OH she married Larry Jenkins, and he survives. Loretta worked as a homemaker, caring for her family. She had five children, including triplets by the age of 21. She loved to travel, traveling to Germany, Mexico, Alaska, and Florida, and was a snowbird in Florida for many years.


Loretta enjoyed fishing and being 1st mate on her boat, Crowd Pleaser, going to casinos, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her many dogs she had over the years. She hosted fishing contests in her neighborhood, which everyone enjoyed. She was “Mom” & “Gram” to many.


Her family will miss her quick wit and funny stories. There was never a dull moment when she was around. But most of all, she’ll be missed for her kind, caring ways. She always made sure everyone was taken care of.


In addition to her loving husband of 67 years, Larry, Loretta is survived by her children, Randy (Lisa) Jenkins, Ray (DeAnna) Jenkins, and Robin Canale. She was “Gram” to Jason (Emilie), Ami (Jayson), Shane (Briana), Kyle, Connor, and Karlee and “Oma” to 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Jim (Pat) Lisy and Bruce (Corkie) Lisy, and her best friend, Doris Kubinski. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Scott Jenkins and Michael Jenkins, brother and sister-in-law, Ron & Joan Lisy, and son-in-law, Mark Canale.


A Celebration of Life for Loretta will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Loretta may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton is assisting the family with arrangements.
