Loran “Andy” Anderson, 90, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Monday, October 14, 2024, at Orchard Villa Nursing Home in Oregon. He was born in Wayne, Ohio on October 21, 1933, the son of Erin and Irsel (Scovill) Anderson. Andy married the love of his life, Dorothy J. (Miller) on June 14, 1953, in Custer, Ohio, and they celebrated 51 years together until her death on July 18, 2004.
Andy spent over 30 years working for Libbey-Owens-Ford Company, at the Rossford, Ohio plant and once retired, he spent the next 10 years as a grounds keeper for the Belmont Country Club. Andy was a lifetime member of the Cooley Canal Yacht Club serving as Commadore in 1990. He loved to spend time there and enjoyed the camaraderie of the other members. He also liked to bowl and did so for many years. Many will remember Andy for his dedication to the Ohio State Buckeyes, he was their number one fan. Everyone knew that when the game was on, everything had to wait until it was over!
Andy is survived by his loving family, daughter, Tammy (Shawn) Darr, son, Jim (Teri) Anderson, daughter-in-law, Sherri Anderson, grandchildren, Jill Anderson, Lauren Anderson, Megan (Andrew) Pollick, Robert (Ashley) Anderson, Jami Anderson, Kevin (Makayla) Belcik, Anthony (Joanna) Stefanelli, Angela (Brian) Johnson, Christina Anderson, Erin (Aaron) Brackett, James (Kristen) Anderson, Matthew (Mary) Ruebush, Samantha (James) Wodarski, twenty three great-grandchildren, and his loving companion, Kathy Addis. Andy was preceded in death by his parents Erin & Irasel, wife, Dorothy, son, Robert Anderson, daughter, Linda (Kenneth) Belcik, grandson, David Brentlinger, and siblings, Harold Anderson, Bonnie Rister, Janice Crawfoot and Theron Anderson.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the Walker Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave., Oregon, Ohio, with the Cooley Canal Yacht Club Blue Gavel service starting at 3:30 PM. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM. Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 21, 2024, in the Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Perrysburg, Ohio.
