Lola J. Shoemaker Siefke, 61, of Martin, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008, in her home. She was born October 10, 1946, in Fremont, Ohio, to the late Lewis H. Shoemaker and Beryljean Myers-Pokorny Shoemaker. Lola graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1964. She also attended Terra Technical College and Owens Community College. She worked for Pfizer, Inc. in Gibsonburg for 8 years as a printer and administrative assistant and for 4 years for the Pemberville Grain Elevator. On August 8, 1975, she married Thomas L. Siefke in Gibsonburg at the Trinity United Methodist Church. She had attended St. Peter Lutheran Church in Martin for the past 32 years, where she helped with many events and projects. Lolas hobbies and interests included working with the Boy Scout Troop 342 in Williston and Troop 385 in Genoa for 14 years on many committees and also served at the district level. Lola loved to work on family geneaology, sewing, gardening and out-fishing with her husband. Surviving Lola are her husband of 32 years, Thomas, son, Derrick of Williston, sisters, Shirley Ronald Baker of Gibsonburg, Lois Robert Huffman of Tiffin and Edith Aldrich the late Richard Aldrich of Nashville, TN, and mother, Beryljean Shoemaker of Gibsonburg. She is also survived by three nephews and six nieces. At Lolas request, she will be cremated. A memorial service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008, in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Martin with visitation from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Elliston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
