Lois Jean Tuttle

June 29, 1931 — June 4, 2018

Lois Jean Perkins Tuttle, 86, Waterville, Ohio passed away June 4, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Lois was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Ann Redmond and John Richmond and later adopted by Alfred Perkins. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy and attended The University of Toledo. Together with her husband, Harold, they owned and operated Transport Equipment where Lois was Secretary Treasurer for thirty- five years, retiring in 1995. Lois and Harold also founded other companies including Motor Carrier Service Inc. and Transport Leasing Inc. Lois was a long- time member of St Matthew’s Episcopal Church. Her other memberships included The American Business Women’s Assoc., The Emblem Club, The Toledo Sailing Club, The Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America and The Zenobia Hillbillies. Lois and Harold enjoyed their boating time on Tut’s Toy Too, their many excursions with their grandkids in the motorhome and dancing at the drop of a hat. They were married for sixty- two years and created memories together that helped them both get through the rigors of cancer. Sylvania had been their long- time home until Lois recently moved to a Villa at Browning Masonic Community. Lois will be remembered by many for her amazing cooking skills, her incredible pies and a cookie jar that was never empty. Her flair for fashion, her voracious appetite for reading and her fondness for convertible cars, were just a few of what made her so special. She gave and received so much joy from her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, always taking a keen interest in each one. Besides her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her daughter, Karen; and her brother, David Perkins. She is survived by her brother, Jerry Richmond; children, Bruce (Norma), Keith (Kathy), Scott (Cindy), and Laura (Frank) Figliomeni; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and her Guinea Pig, Sammy.
