Lois Belle Thompson

Lois Belle Thompson, 88, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020. Lois was born to George and Mary Reedy on April 29, 1932 in Joplin, Missouri. Lois attended Parsons Junior College and Ottawa University. She married Fred Weldon Thompson, Jr. on April 25, 1954. After marriage, she was active supporting Fred’s ministry in the American Baptist Churches of the Central Region and the USA, raising their two daughters, and teaching Suzuki violin lessons in Parsons, Kansas. Further education resulted in becoming a paralegal. Lois later worked at Glenn Cornish Law Offices, the Christian Church in Kansas and the Kansas Legislature, all in Topeka, Kansas. After full lives in Kansas and Pennsylvania, Fred and Lois moved to Ohio to be closer to their daughters. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lois centered her life around her faith, music and her family. She lived according to the words of Helen Reddy: “If I have to, I can do anything. I am strong. I am invincible. I am woman.” She is survived by her daughters Alicia Ann Tremmel (Mike) and Penny Sue Kruse (Steven), grandchildren Emily Tremmel (Justin Lambert) and Collin Tremmel , great-grandson Carter Lambert, niece Nancy Twillman (Robert), grandniece Talia Twillman, nephew Cliff Reedy, Jr. and niece Carol Reedy. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, brother Clifford Reedy Sr., and niece Jane Thompson. Funeral services for Lois are private.
