Lois Ann Smith

August 20, 1949 — November 20, 2021

Lois Ann (Browning) Smith, a loving wife, mother of three, grandmother of 7, and lifelong resident of Northwest Ohio, died on November 20, 2021 at the age of 72. She passed peacefully in the presence of family. Lois is survived by her husband, David after over 51 years of marriage, her son Marc Smith (Jennifer Carmona Smith), her daughter Amy (Smith) Barker (Eric Barker), and her daughter Angie (Smith) Graham (Joel Graham), her mother in-law Phyllis Dunmyer, her sisters Rita Weitendorf (Karl) and Brenda Holmes. She loved her 7 grandchildren (Allison Smith, Amanda Barker, Megan Barker, Nathan Smith, Lindsey Graham, Sophie Graham, and Ryan Barker).  Lois is preceded in death by her parents (James and Vonda Browning), her brother (James Browning), her brother in law (Fred Holmes), her brother in law (Gail Smith), and her father in law (Norman Smith).   She was a nurse and loved when she was able to help and teach others. She graduated from Genoa High School (1967), Flower Hospital School of Nursing (1970), and Lourdes University (1999). Lois enjoyed her career at Flower Hospital for 37 years and as a clinical instructor at Owens Community College. She loved her retired life, visiting with friends and family, and traveling with her husband.   Her family is so appreciative of the assistance that was provided by the staff at Sylvania Township Firefighters, Toledo and Flower Hospitals, and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.   A memorial service will be held at Epworth United Methodist (4855 West Central Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43615) on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 11 am (visitation with the family at 10 am). In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to be sent to Epworth United Methodist Legacy Fund.
