Lois Jane King

Lois Jane King, of Perrysburg Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at her home. Lois was born on June 30, 1930 in Charleston, West Virginia to Charles Edward and Lelia (Melton) Crotty. Lois was a graduate of Charleston High School and Bowling Green (KY) School of Business. Lois taught typing and shorthand at Knoxville Business College in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was a homemaker for many years, caring for her family. After moving to Ohio, she worked in sales at the Lion Store in Southwyck Mall, and then as a secretary in the trust department at Toledo Trust/Key Bank. On June 27, 1952, Lois married Armand M. King, who preceded her in death in 1999. Lois had a lifelong love for music. As a child, she sang on the radio for the Children’s Radio Show sponsored by Blossom Dairy in Charleston. She also sang for numerous special occasions in churches throughout her life. Lois was a talented pianist and organist as well. She was the musician for Palestine Chapter #51, Order of the Eastern Star and guest organist for many churches. In 1998, she served as Grand Organist of the State of Ohio, Order of the Eastern Star. Lois was also a talented baker with an expertise in Christmas cookies. Her children recall her special birthday cakes she made each year. Lois was a member of The First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo having been a Sunday School teacher and Church Treasurer over several years. Lois loved Chick-Fil-A, Rudy’s Hotdogs, and always made room for dessert. Lois is survived by daughters Linda (Terry) Stockner of Perrysburg and Patricia (David) Bilyeu of Greenville, Illinois; one son, Jim (Geri) King of Worthington; grandsons Christopher, Andrew, Max, Jacob, Jack, and Mark; granddaughter Kelly; great-grandsons Brody and Oliver; and great-granddaughter Taylor. Her daughter, Donna, preceded her in death by one day. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 5 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour before. Service will take place at Witzler-Shank-Walker funeral home in Perrysburg. Interment will be at Ft. Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg. Memorials may be made to Autism Speaks or The First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo.
