Lois Johnson

Lois Johnson, 87, of Holland, Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the University of Toledo Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 18, 1929 in Holland to Richard and Ethel (Schiffer) Hartman and she married Bernard “Russell” Johnson on February 10, 1951. Together they raised four children and were married for 52 years until his death in 2003. Lois loved to garden everything from flowers to vegetables. She enjoyed reading romance novels and working on puzzles. One of her greatest joys were her grandchildren, whom she loved greatly. Lois is survived by her loving children, Richard Johnson, Dr. Lynnette (Jerry) Blavis, Susan (Bradford) McPhail and Nancy (Chris) Maenle; grandchildren, Janine, Jacob, Amanda, Taylor, Michael and Bryce; great grandchildren, Anna, Jon and Allie; siblings, Virginia Cairl, JoAnn Weinstock, Mary Swope, Wilma Blankenship, Carol Koback, Leslie Spencer, Linda Hartman, Richard Hartman, Charles Hartman and John Hartman. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Family and friends will be received on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. in Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879). Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Springfield Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
