Lois Marie (Quisno) Held, 92, of Port Clinton, OH passed away October 26, 2018. She was born November 11, 1925, in Toledo, Ohio to Dale and Thelma (Flegle) Quisno. On March 25, 1946, she married Donald Held and they enjoyed a loving marriage of 57 years. Lois was a proud 1943 graduate of Port Clinton High School, where she was on the field hockey and basketball teams. Lois first job was at the Madrid Theater in downtown Port Clinton, continuing on to Reminger Rand in Marietta, Standard Products, Thelmas Grill in Oak Harbor and full-time farmers wife in Bay Township. Her retirement job was in the cafeteria at the Port Clinton Junior High School. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, volunteering in the community and attending celebrations, parties and reunions. She loved her family, friends and neighbors and especially enjoyed spending time with Dylan, Grace and Paige Smothers. Lois was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Mothers Club, Couples Card Club, Elk Ladies and a former member of the Bay Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a charter member of both the Sunrise Garden Club and the Port Clinton Lighthouse Conservancy. She is survived by daughter Jane M. Held and son-in-law Dr. John Smothers, step grandchildren Colin, Jodi and Courtney Smothers; great grandchildren Dylan, Grace and Paige Smothers, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, brother Jack Quisno, Sr., sisters-in-law Marjorie Anderson, Jean Harvey and Kay Quisno and brother-in-law Paul Anderson. Brother-in-law Kenneth Harvey survives. The family gives special thanks to TEAM LOIS: Kristen Quisno-Witt, Jack Quisno, Jr., Janice Bahnsen, Valerie Burr Boss, Jean McGraw, Chuck Lindsey, Dot Sutherland and Eva Sutherland. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 31st, 2018, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, OH. A memorial service for Lois will be conducted by Pastor Cheryl K. Wessel at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church, 207 Adams Street, Port Clinton, OH. Interment will take place at Roose Cemetery, Oak Harbor, Ohio, at a later date.
