Lois E. Gates

Lois E. Gates, 87, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Oak Harbor, OH, on March 13, 1926, the daughter of Carl and Elsie Lieske Waggoner. Lois graduated from Flower Hospital Nursing School in 1946 and Baldwin Wallace College in 1977. She worked as an RN for, H. B. Magruder Hospital, Parma Community Hospital, Lakewood Hospital and Southwest General Hospital, for 46 years until retiring in 1992. Lois was very artistic. She loved sewing, knitting and gardening in her yard. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: Daughters: Sandra L. Householder Diane E. Daniel E. Margulies; Grandchildren: T. Shane Householder, Taryn L. Householder, Magda G. Margulies Samantha E. Margulies; Great-Grandchildren: Kayleigh M., Ashley B. Taylor G. Householder and Brother: Don C. Waggoner. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter: Sharon Lynn Gates. Visitation will be from 12-2pm, Thursday, February 27, 2014 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, OH 43452, followed by a Service of Remembrance at 2:00pm. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions in memory of Lois may be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
