Lois E. Billig, age 95, passed away peacefully at Ohio Living Swan Creek on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Born to Harry and Dora Zeigler, Lois attended Waite High School and graduated from University of Toledo. In 1951, she married Sam Billig, the love of her life. She and Sam shared 70 wonderful, happy years. Lois was an active mother and grandmother, who enjoyed being involved in her kids’ and grandkids’ activities. In her 95 years, Lois was involved in many organizations, including her college sorority, AOPi, of which she was a lifelong member. Family was paramount in her life. Loving and caring for others was very important to Lois. She and Sam spent many happy times traveling to their children’s homes and playing with their grandchildren, organizing annual family vacations, and grandkids “summer camp”. Before retirement, Lois and Sam explored the US and after retirement, they took many trips discovering the world. They enjoyed their adventures together, often planning travels with different friends. Lois was involved in many activities including the mission outreach at Epworth United Methodist Church. Lois is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Sam; her three children, Paul (Sandi) Billig, Jeff (Cindy) Billig, and Laura (Ken) Switzer; her nine grandchildren, Chris Billig, Sam (Lindsay) Billig, Valerie (John) Nadar, Michelle (Jonathon) Hogge, Andrew Billig, Eric Billig, Sarah Switzer, Bart Switzer, and Lisa (Matt) Cutcher; and nine great-grandchildren. Lois is preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Ned and Ann Zeigler. Funeral services will be private. Arrangements were handled by Walker Funeral Home, Toledo (419-841-2422). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church and Ohio Living Swan Creek. Condolences and memories can be shared at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
