Lloyd D. Gross, 90, of Pemberville, Ohio, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Otterbein Portage Valley Nursing Home. He was born August 27, 1920 in Toledo to Adelbert and Mabel (Lake) Gross and was a graduate of Waite High School. He attended the Ohio University where he studied engineering. Lloyd served our country in the Air Corps as a pilot during WWII flying over Tunisia, Sicily, Rome and in Air Combat over the Balkans. He owned and operated Gross Automotive in Toledo and enjoyed flying his private plane. Lloyd was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice M. (Renn) Gross; parents; and brother, Robert Gross. He is survived by his wife, Jane (McKenzie) Gross; sons, Roger Gross of Elmore and Daryl (Janet) Gross of Bellevue, Ohio; daughter, Renee Gross of Elmore, Ohio; step-daughter, Terry Morrison of Atlanta, GA; grandson, Moss Gross; and sister Mildred Williams of Sylvania, Ohio In honoring Lloyds wishes there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held, Monday, August 22, 2011 at 2 P.M. at Otterbein Portage Valley. Burial will remain private. Arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Memorial contributions may be made in Lloyd’s name to Otterbein Portage Valley.
