Lisa A. (Spieldenner) Johnson, age 62, of Catawba Island in Port Clinton, OH, passed away on July 18, 2025. She was born June 4, 1963 in Fremont, OH, the daughter of John P. “Pete” and Carolyn S. (Tight) Spieldenner. She was raised in Fremont and graduated from Fremont St. Joseph Central Catholic High School in 1981. Lisa was a 1983 graduate of Davis Business College in Toledo with a degree in Interior Decorating. On March 3, 2000, she married Ted M. Johnson at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton, OH. They were married for 25 years.
Lisa was employed at Young’s Floor Covering in Port Clinton beginning in 1983. In 2006 she and her brother Peter acquired that business from their family, and they operated it as co-owners through December of 2020, when the business was sold.
Lisa has been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Port Clinton for 30 plus years, including serving for a year as President, and participated in a wide variety of fundraising and social activities. She was instrumental in creating Kiwanis scholarships for local students. For 20 years she was the Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee. She was also an avid skier who skied around the world including in Hokkaido, Japan, Innsbruck, Austria, and all-over North America. Much of her skiing was done with the Sandusky Ski Club, of which she was a member for over 33 years. Lisa served the members of the Sandusky Ski Club as President, Vice President, Board Member, Treasurer, Trip Coordinator and Sandusky Ski Club Queen. She treasured the many friendships she formed on the slopes.
Lisa could make friends anywhere. She enjoyed working with the staff at Youngs Floor Covering as well as helping her customers there decide on the perfect décor for their homes. Lisa enjoyed gardening, making custom jewelry, making candles, traveling, camping, and boating on Lake Erie, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren who chose to call her Nina. They brought a special joy to her life.
Lisa is survived by her husband Ted and Ted’s two sons, David (Chelsea) Johnson of Perrysburg, OH, and Bryan (Tyler Marie) Johnson of Medina, OH; her brothers Steve (Kim) Spieldenner of Toledo, OH, Paul (Carolyn) Spieldenner of Normandy Park, WA, and Peter (Lisa) Spieldenner of Port Clinton; as well as her 8 step-grandchildren.
